Cuatro Cuatros Winery | Ocean Front Winery and New Luxury Resort
Have you heard that Cuatro Cuatros is the first property to offer a tourist and residential community in between vineyards and the pacific Coast ocean? Overlooking Baja’s beautiful pacific coast and the Salsipuedes Bay, is one of the most peaceful and serene places I have ever visited for a glass of wine. Bura Bar is located in the Cuatro Cuatros property that is nestled in a 2100 acre natural preserve of more than 44 acres of grapes, Agave, and Olives trees.
The winery is actually located at the bottom towards the entrance of the property, so if you're planning on wine tasting, make sure you start at the bottom. The vineyards on this property are in different micro climates with cooler weather conditions due to the close proximity to the ocean and the hot summers. Their vineyards are located in small valleys and slopes, giving them a longer time to harvest comparing to other areas in Valle de Guadalupe.
The popular winery, bar and boutique glamping hotel that has become very popular, is expanding into a luxury resort and residential community. The property will now have a luxury hotel casitas, private homes, condominiums, a zip line, equestrian center, sports club, pool, hiking trails, helicopter tours, mountain biking ocean front private beach club, and an olive press factory. The property will be the first in America to offer ocean front vineyard resort amenities. For more information of residential sales, click here.
The entire property is stylish with rustic cabins and large vintage boats. These boats used to be a decorative item, but now its a full service bar, called Noa Bar. A ladder leads you up the bar. Cool music plays as you sits and relax. The boats were old fishing boats and were reconstructed in a bar. CLICK HERE to see the before pictures taken by me in 2016.
The best part of the property is Bura Bar, which sits on the Mirador overlooking the pacific ocean. Any person that visits this property is taken away by the panoramic views of the Baja coast. As you get out of your vehicle, you’re shuttled closer to the edge of the hill where this beautiful winery sits overlooking the ocean. You can instantly feel the “luxury meets nature” vibe, this property gives you. The curvy dirt walkway that starts at the back of the mountain, leads you towards ocean front bar with breathtaking views.
The ambiance of the bar is very rustic with chairs made of hay stacks covered with white cotton sheets. Canopies cover the entire sitting area to keep you away from the scorching sun or you can have a seat on the very corner with nothing in your view, but the ocean.
During my trip to Ensenada in March, I got to visit this property for the second time. We made it just by sunset, but it was foggy and the sun was not very visible. However, we had one of the best seats in the house, enjoyed a glass of wine (Sauvignon Blanc) and had some delicious appetizers. I want to personally thank Ensenada Tourism, Cuatro Cuatros and Bura bar for hosting this wonderful evening!
The third time I visited Bura at Cuatro Cuatros was the first week of April with my good friend Rupal Shakar, the Syrah Queen. Click HERE to read her AWESOME BLOG and wine travels!
Rupal and I, actually met on the instagram platform and later found out we were attending the same conference. Well, we met up, became instant friends/sisters and the rest is history.
Click below to see a short 2 minute video of that conference.
Anyways, we spent a great week in Sonoma/ Napa and recently in Valle De Guadalupe. So of course, there was no way I couldn't take her to see this magical place. The sun was perfect and the clouds were put, so I knew the sunset was going to be on point.
Here’s the picture of our perfect sunset!!!!!!!
P.S - thank you to our driver Carlos from Sibaria Tours, who was the most kind, patient and helpful guide. Muchisimas gracias Carlos from Sibaria Tours for making this afternoon and week so special. If you ever need a tour service to pick you up/drop off at the border and take you around Valle de Guadalupe to all the perfect places, then call Sibaria Tours. The large vans are clean and are sustainable to the Valle roads!
Tips 1: The best seats of the house require a reservation.
Tip 2: If you want to wine taste first, stay at the bottom of the mountain prior to driving up the hill to Bura Bar. The Bura Bar is open every day and open late.
At Bura Bar, you have a full service bar along with two wine selections and a restaurant. This time they offered a red blend and sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay Blend. Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay was very refreshing with light crisp acidity and tropical fruit flavors on the palate. It was dry, easy to drink, refreshing, with little to no oak. Definitely recommend if you’re a white drinker.
Every view from this winery/Bar is breathtaking. Whether you’re sitting on top of the hill drinking some wine, eating some delicious dishes, dancing to the music, or glamping in the tent, you will seriously feel one with nature and the ocean. Breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, good company and wine, is definitely my idea of Luxury meets Nature!
